How can we help?

Viaplay abroad

After the new portability regulation came into force in April 2018, you now have the opportunity to bring your local Viaplay to all destinations within the EU. In addition to these countries, this also applies to Norway. The service works just like in Iceland in terms of content, technology and functions. Keep in mind that the quality of the material may vary as it relies on the network’s property and speed. You can find more information about the general portability rules here.

For those traveling outside the EU, we recommend downloading our content before traveling. You can save content offline on your mobile devices such as your mobile or tablet.

If you are traveling outside the EU, we also recommend you to not connect your device to a local network when using Viaplay abroad. This is because we do not have rights outside the EU and thus there is the possibility that you will be blocked from the service, or that the Viaplay app will be automatically updated and you will lose the licenses for your pre-downloaded content during your stay.

Should you be blocked from the service while abroad, you can test the following:
1. Shut down the app completely so that it is not active in the background
2. Turn airplane mode on
3. Open the Viaplay app again.

If you still do not have access to the service, you can try turning on 4G for a short time to sign in to the app, then switch on airplane mode again.
